Evaluation
A comprehensive evaluation will be completed to assess all areas of your child’s communication abilities, including receptive language skills, expressive language skills, articulation skills, voicing abilities, fluency, and verbal and non-verbal social communication skills, with an in-depth focus on the specific area of concern noted by parents. The assessment may include data collected from informal observations, parent and/or teacher information forms, standardized assessments that compare your child’s abilities to that of same-age peers, informal speech-language assessments, reports from other specialists, etc. The assessment findings will be shared with parents in a written report and will be used to identify areas of impairment and to develop an individualized treatment plan with appropriate goals and the appropriate intensity of intervention. Ongoing collaboration with parents along with data from the in-depth assessment ensures that an effective treatment plan will be developed to remediate your child’s speech-language difficulties to help your child achieve his or her maximum potential. Therapists from Speech Therapy Chiang Mai look forward to working with you to meet your child’s needs. Clinicians utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques and strategies to facilitate meaningful progress with treatment goals. Individual one-on-one sessions are provided, and when appropriate, small group therapy sessions are offered. The frequency and duration of services that are recommended are based on the type of disorder, the severity of the impairment, the child’s characteristics (age, maturity, attention span, behavioral needs, etc.), and based on what works best for his or her family. Depending on these factors, speech services can be provided 1, 2, or 3 times per week with a duration of 30, 45, or 60 minutes per session.
