Mrs. Kim graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Texas State University, in San Marcos, Texas. She is certified as clinically competent by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and also holds a Texas Speech-Language Pathology State License. She is an American from San Antonio, Texas, and is a native English speaker. She has resided in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a year. She is married and has two grown children, a son who graduated from Cornell University in 2020 and a daughter who graduated from Texas A&M University in 2022.

Work Experience

Mrs. Kim has practiced as a speech therapist for 15 years. She has worked in a medical setting working with adults with cognitive, language, swallowing, speech, and voice disorders secondary to stroke, traumatic brain injury, progressive neurological impairments, tumors, and dementia. For the past decade, she has practiced as a speech-language pathologist in the public school setting, working with students from 3 to 22 years of age, with extensive experience working with elementary school-aged kids to remediate language, articulation, voice, fluency, and social communication deficits secondary to specific language impairments, attention deficit disorder, apraxia, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, asperger’s syndrome, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, dyslexia, hearing impairments, traumatic brain injuries, etc. She has experience developing augmentative and alternative communication systems for non-verbal children and has experience supporting children with swallowing and feeding challenges. Her areas of specialty include articulation therapy, language therapy, and social skills training.
